Getting started

A mado demo starts as a screen recording of anything — a mobile app, a web app, desktop software, a terminal. There is no browser extension to install and no integration to wire up.

1. Record

Record the flow you want to show, however you'd normally capture your screen. On the web, Studio's built-in recorder (getDisplayMedia) covers browser capture with zero install. For a native app, desktop tool, or terminal, use your platform's screen recorder and upload the file.

2. Upload

Drop the recording into Studio. It's processed asynchronously — steps get detected, scroll gets stitched into one continuous image, and hotspots get pre-seeded — but none of that is required to move forward. Detection pre-seeds the timeline and is always dismissible; the product works even with nothing detected, because manual timeline authoring is the primary path, not a fallback.

3. Edit

Mark steps, place hotspots, add tooltips, redact anything sensitive. Redaction is destructive at publish time — the pixels are removed from the published asset, never hidden behind an overlay.

4. Publish

Publishing creates an immutable version. Your share link and any embed already live on a customer's site keep serving that version — and every version after it — for as long as the demo exists. See Embedding for how to put it on a page.
